4 Wheel Geometry Setup
Having your suspension system set up correctly is up there with the most important things you can do to your car. Period.
At MAP we use a state of the art, industry leading, 3 dimensional alignment system that allows us to view all aspects of the suspension geometry spectrum in real time. Additionally we have corner weighting facilities for those who require it.
It's all well and good fitting any chassis or suspension upgrades but to then not set the geometry of the car up after is like fitting new tires and not pumping them up - rather than improving your cars performance in the twisties you are actually more likely to make it worse.
After any handling focused modifications, or even just as a standalone handling focused modification, we recommend a custom geometry setup - this isn't the same as getting your 'tracking' done at your local tyre shop but rather moving away from factory settings to achieve better grip, more steering response and better stability. Obviously it doesn't pay to setup a road car like a race car in 99% of cases but a fast road car will still benefit tremendously from the same type of but milder adjustments.
Now this doesn't mean to say you have to modify your car for it to require a 4 wheel geometry setup or alignment. If you've never had it done in the time you've owned your vehicle, it will still show a huge difference in how the car drives. This is because over time, even normal day to day driving will cause your vehicles geometry to work its way out of spec' - not to mention the time you hit that mother of all potholes! Having us setup your cars alignment and geometry will save you the hassle of uneven tyre wear as well as get your car driving as well as (and often better than) it did when it left the dealership.
