These services are generally more thorough and include additional items that Ford doesn’t include as standard. It consists of OEM Ford and aftermarket products, selected based on their performance.
MAP Interim Service
As the name suggests, this service exists as an intermediary between the primary annual services.
It is for applications such as:
- Daily drivers doing 12,000+ miles per year
- Spirited drivers doing track days and regular fast road
- Forced induction applications
If the oil monitoring system determines that you require an oil and filter change, but you are months away from requiring a full service, this service will fill the gap.
Includes:

- OEM Replacement Sump Plug washer
- MAP Mustang Health Check

MAP 3rd Year Service
At the three-year mark, our tailored service is to wrap up the three-year service cycle. A highlight is the spark plug replacement, which is essential for forced induction vehicles. Still, naturally aspirated cars also significantly gain from this. We use Ford’s premium engine cleaner before the oil and filter change. A fresh primary drive belt is part of the package for those running supercharged systems. An attention-to-detail task we’re proud of is extracting and cleaning the brake pins on the front callipers. Re-greasing them is crucial; we’ve observed these pins seize in the past, necessitating complete caliper replacements.

As well, for cars with mixed or uncertain service history, this service can be used as a ‘reset’ service. Essentially allowing you to have everything done one year so that the following year you can confidently get back onto the standard 3 year cycle knowing that nothing has been missed.

MAP Specialist Service
Our specialist service is aimed at those specialist drivers. When you demand the most from your car, your car will demand the most from you. This means keeping on top of everything that can deteriorate and ensuring no stone is left unturned.
Specialist Health Checks
Occasionally, there’s a need to examine a car outside its regular service routine. The reasons can range from spotting unusual wear patterns and investigating an odd noise, to ensuring peace of mind when purchasing or selling a vehicle.
At Motorsport and Performance, our specialized, model-specific health checks stand apart. We’ve curated them to delve deeper into an inspection. Instead of just a “tyre spin”, our assessments provide a comprehensive insight into a vehicle’s condition, ensuring buyers and sellers are well-informed and confident in their decisions. Trust us for a meticulous evaluation that captures even the minutest details.
More As Standard
A Vehicle Health Check is an in-depth examination of a vehicle’s crucial components and systems. Its primary purpose is to pinpoint and diagnose potential challenges or malfunctions.
Our standard health check gives a panoramic view of a vehicle’s holistic condition. This includes evaluations of tyre and brake pad deterioration, fluid quantities, the state of suspension bushes and bearings, and a general assessment of a vehicle’s structure and readiness for the road.
Beyond these standard checks, we go a step further. Drawing from our experience with Mustangs, we emphasise specific critical components known to be vulnerable. For instance, brake callipers and the handbrake mechanism can exhibit issues that might not be immediately evident until they fail. Our proactive approach aims to anticipate and address these problems before they escalate.
As an added value, this health check is incorporated into our service schedule at no additional charge.
The Everything Check
Our signature shakedown starts with a test drive and includes all the checks carried out as part of our specialist health check. Once we have completed the health check, we take things further with a full shakedown on the dyno, where we compare the vehicle’s performance and data against previously collected data on other Mustangs in the same trim state.
Once the car has been put through its paces, we collect a sample of the engine oil to be sent to Millers Oils Lab for analysis – this will produce a report that will identify any abnormal engine wear and give a snapshot of the engine’s condition and wear.
After, the car is onto our 4-wheel geometry system to ensure the vehicle’s setup is correct and optimised for your specific use.
The resulting stack of paperwork is compiled into a report that outlines any areas that need improvement and what we think of the vehicle’s overall state. No other ‘health check’ is as thorough as this.
