Ford OEM Service Schedule
OEM Schedule (OEM or OE Equivalent)

The exact Ford service schedule for the facelift S550 Mustang. Choose between OEM Factory components OE Equivalent if one exists that offers a saving over the factory part.

1st Year Service (repeated in year 4, 7 and 13)

Ford’s first-year service is essentially an Oil and Filter change and a health check. It is repeated in years 4, 7, and 13 as part of the 3-year service schedule. In years 4, 7, and 13, we also remove the spark plugs from cylinders 8 and 7 and check their condition.

10th Year Service

The 10th year service for the Ford Mustang involves the replacement of the long-overdue spark plugs, refreshing the engine coolant, and updating the engine oil and filter. Notably, this particular service is intended as a one-off, not to be repeated in the car’s lifecycle.

  • OEM Replacement Sump Plug
  • OEM or NGK Spark Plugs

15th Year Service

The service for the 15th year includes a change of the Differential and Gearbox oil, installation of a new air conditioning belt, and replacement of the water pump belt. Once this service is completed, the schedule resets, reverting to the first-year service. Interestingly, Ford doesn’t typically expect these vehicles to reach this milestone, let alone cycle through the service schedule a second time.

MAP Service Schedule
MAP Specialist Service Schedule

We set out the Motorsport and Performance service schedule to maintain the car and keep it fighting fit long after its expected service life has expired. So ten years from now, you will be able to single out the cars we have maintained.

This service schedule is denser and more intense than the Ford schedule. It also contains the best parts and fluids the industry offers and includes checks and maintenance that the Ford option lacks completely.

MAP Interim Service

As the name suggests, this service exists as an intermediary between the primary annual services.
It is for applications such as:

  • Daily drivers doing 12,000+ miles per year
  • Spirited drivers doing track days and regular fast road
  • Forced induction applications

If the oil monitoring system determines that you require an oil and filter change, but you are months away from requiring a full service, this service will fill the gap.

Includes:

  • OEM Ford Oil filter
  • Naturally Aspirated or Forced Induction Engine Oil
  • OEM Replacement Sump Plug washer
  • MAP Mustang Health Check
  • Service Stamp and Ford DSR Update

MAP 1st Year Service (4th, 6th and 9th year)

The MAP 1st year service. As the car hasn’t done many miles from new or since a recent major service, this is our entry-level service and includes the addition of an air filter or filter clean over Fords 1st year service.

  • OEM Ford Oil filter
  • Naturally Aspirated or Forced Induction Engine Oil
  • OEM Replacement Sump Plug washer
  • OEM Ford Air Filter or Cleaning Kit
  • Washer Fluid
  • Test Brake Fluid
  • MAP Mustang Health Check
  • Service Stamp and Ford DSR Update

2nd Year Service (8th year)

MAP’s second year service. This one replaces your Pollen filter to keep the air coming into your cabin clean. Additionally, we like to replace the vehicle windscreen wipers this time – an often overlooked component you then find dealing with when it isn’t convenient. Also worth mentioning is we check your brake fluid every year, not that it will get changed on the second year but definitely as part of the 5th.

  • OEM Ford Oil filter
  • Naturally Aspirated or Forced Induction Engine Oil
  • OEM Replacement Sump Plug washer
  • OEM Ford Air Filter or Cleaning Kit
  • OEM Pollen Filters
  • OEM Windscreen Wipers
  • Washer Fluid
  • Test Brake Fluid
  • MAP Mustang Health Check
  • Service Stamp and Ford DSR Update

MAP 3rd Year Service

At the three-year mark, our tailored service is to wrap up the three-year service cycle. A highlight is the spark plug replacement, which is essential for forced induction vehicles. Still, naturally aspirated cars also significantly gain from this. We use Ford’s premium engine cleaner before the oil and filter change. A fresh primary drive belt is part of the package for those running supercharged systems. An attention-to-detail task we’re proud of is extracting and cleaning the brake pins on the front callipers. Re-greasing them is crucial; we’ve observed these pins seize in the past, necessitating complete caliper replacements.

  • Ford OEM Castrol Engine Cleaner
  • OEM Ford Oil filter
  • Naturally Aspirated or Forced Induction Engine Oil
  • OEM Replacement Sump Plug washer
  • OEM Ford Air Filter or Cleaning Kit
  • NGK Iridium Spark Plugs

MAP Master Service

The Master service is designed to be used in 2 specific scenarios.

In the car’s 10th year after registration, it replaces what would be the fourth 1st year service*. Intended to give the car a full shakedown and refresh, ready to face another ten years on the road.

This service can also be used as a reset service for cars with mixed or uncertain service history. Essentially it allows you to have everything done one year so that the following year you can confidently get back onto the standard 3-year cycle knowing that nothing has been missed.

  • Ford OEM Castrol Engine Cleaner
  • OEM Ford Oil filter
  • Naturally Aspirated or Forced Induction Engine Oil
  • OEM Replacement Sump Plug washer
  • OEM Ford Air Filter or Cleaning Kit

*Obviously, we will use sensible discretion for vehicles that had a MAP 3rd year service the year before

MAP Specialist Service

Our specialist service is aimed at those specialist drivers. When you demand the most from your car, your car will demand the most from you. This means keeping on top of everything that can deteriorate and ensuring no stone is left unturned.

Mustang Healthchecks
Specialist Health Checks

Sometimes, you might need a car looking at independently of its service schedule. Reasons why will vary from having noticed some abnormal wear, wanting to get to the bottom of a clunking noise or looking to buy a car with piece of mind or sell a car confidently to realise a realistic value.

Our specialist, model-specific health checks were developed by us and go far further than your average ‘tyre spin’.

More As Standard

A Vehicle health check is a comprehensive inspection of a vehicle’s key components and systems designed to identify and diagnose potential issues or problems.

Our standard health check aims to take an overview look at a vehicle’s overall condition and includes the assessment of tyre and brake pad wear, fluid levels, suspension bushes, bearings and the general shape and roadworthiness of a vehicle, as you would expect.

Additionally, we focus extra attention on various vital components that we know are susceptible to developing issues on the Mustang. For example, things like the brake calliper’s and the handbrake mechanism can have problems that are only immediately obvious once they fail. So we look to pre-empt any failure by monitoring these systems.

The Everything Check

Our signature shakedown starts with a test drive and includes all the checks carried out as part of our specialist health check. Once we have completed the health check, we take things further with a full shakedown on the dyno, where we compare the vehicle’s performance and data against previously collected data on other Mustangs in the same state of trim.

Once the car has been put through its paces, we collect a sample of the engine oil to be sent to Millers Oils Lab for analysis – this will produce a report that will identify any abnormal engine wear and give a snapshot of the engine’s condition and wear.

After, the car is onto our 4-wheel geometry system to ensure the vehicle’s setup is correct and optimised for your specific use.

The resulting stack of paperwork is compiled into a report that outlines any areas that need improvement and what we think of the vehicle’s overall state. No other ‘health check’ is as thorough as this.
